Council resolves to demolish Chinamans Bridge

STRATHBOGIE Shire Council last week resolved to demolish one of Victoria’s oldest timber bridges, the heritage-listed Chinamans Bridge in Nagambie, which is believed to have been constructed in 1891.

But the severely damaged bridge will continue to languish as council applies for a demolition permit from Heritage Victoria and advocates to the state and federal governments for funds to demolish ...
