Ken Lewis – Bright

How long have you lived in the area?

My wife and I moved here in November 2019, so just on three years. We moved here because our daughter and her husband and their two children moved to Bright. So a few years after I retired we decided to move down here from Sydney.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I'm the treasurer of the Bright Croquet Club and we've got a good friendly group here. I also play lawn bowls for Bright and I'm a member of the local RSL. Just in general, wherever the community takes us I like to get involved. My wife Kathy volunteers at the local op shop every week. We just like to get involved in the community, which we find really friendly.

What do you like about the area?

Even though it's cold I love the four seasons. We're into winter now and then you've got summer and autumn and spring – it's great. The only problem is raking up all the leaves. It's a lovely area. That's one of the main reasons we moved here.

Where would you take visitors coming here?

Around town – there's some lovely shops. Also up to Mount Buffalo and the local restaurants and hotels.

Is there anything you would change about the area?

Not really, it's quite good. The tourists are getting more and more and that means the permanent accommodation for the hospitality staff is very lacking at the moment. That would be the only thing.
