They played on during World War 2 until 1941, then went into recess for three years. OUTBREAK of World War 2 in 1939 saw the Myrtleford football team disband; the young Wanderers, following successive premiership wins in the late 1930s, continued on, losing a premiership in 1940 to a team from Tawonga, before joining the O and K League in 1941.
