THE date of this year's Myrtleford Show is fast approaching, with the cut-off deadlines for entry into the multitudes of competitions available, approaching even faster.
This year will mark the town's 77th Myrtleford and District Agricultural and Pastoral Society Show, to be held on Saturday, October 26, from 9am to 9pm.
The show will give local exhibitors the opportunity to display their skills and showcase their stock and artisan products.
This year's attractions will include all of the traditional show staples: rides, show bags, face painting, exhibitions of needlework, crochet, knitting, photography, with pony rides and competitions in cooking, jams, sauces, preserves and gardening.
A new feature will be the show's first ever fireworks display; as the Myrtleford Festival was cancelled and resources were redistributed to bolster this year's event.

Debbie Geddes, president of the Myrtleford Show committee, thanked all of the community members who put in their hard work and support to build this year's show.
"I cannot thank our dedicated show committee enough and congratulate them for the countless hours of volunteering and preparing in the lead up to our show," she said.
"Special thanks goes to Amy Kirk, Lauren Padbury and Belinda Ramia: wonderful volunteers and very special members of our committee.
"A huge thanks to the many sponsors, services and donators that have contributed to our show every year: we would not be able to put on a show without their continued support.
"We are very honoured and very grateful for the generosity of these people and businesses.
"Thank you for everything you contribute to our show society.
"This generosity enables us to award larger prize money, ribbons and prizes."
Competition entrants must deliver their exhibits by the correct cut-off time, depending on which category they are competing in:
*Monday, October 21, 6pm: 'Junior Arts, Craft & Needlework'
*Thursday, October 24, 12noon: 'Jams & Preserves' and 'Needlework, Arts & Crafts'
*Friday, October 25, 11am: 'Photography: Print'
*Friday, October 25, 12noon: 'Cooking'
*Show Day: Saturday, October 26, from 8am to 2:30pm: 'Cattle & Other Livestock', 'Farm Produce', Horticulture', 'Poultry & Budgerigars', 'Family Pet Show', 'Farm Utes' 'Show Tiny Tot, Junior & Teen' and 'Dog Jumping'.
All those wishing to enter a competition in this year's show, visit the Myrtleford Show website to check on the competition schedule, register yourself and check the cut-off dates.
Tickets are available to buy ahead of time online, or purchase them at the gate from 9am on show day.
"As costs are going up everywhere, the show society agreed not to increase our gate prices for 2024," Ms Geddes said.
"For this, we provide many free attractions and performances for all of your family members to enjoy, including live music throughout the day.
"Our guests are reminded that public parking is not available next to the golf club, at the showgrounds entrance.
"There will be traffic management on the day guiding vehicles to the public parking located down Conifer Street."
