On watch for wildlife, particularly wombats

MOTORISTS are being urged to take extra care on the roads in the Alpine Shire, with increased movement of wildlife amid the changing seasons.

"With the unusual weather patterns in the area in recent months, the lack of normal growth is drawing wombats out of bushland areas to seek grasses elsewhere," Myrtleford wildlife carer, Danni Townsend-O'Neil said.
