Falls Creek to close season on September 13.

FALLS Creek Ski Lifts has confirmed its last day for lift operations will be this Friday, September 13.

In line with this decision, Alpine Resorts Victoria has declared the snow season will also end on this date.

The decision follows the premature end of Mt Hotham's season on September 4, and Mt Buller's season on September 1, due to the demise of snow conditions after weeks of warm, and often wet weather, with very little natural snowfall.

A Falls Creek Ski Lifts company spokesperson said the decision was an incredibly hard one to make, and it took into account "many factors, with the priority focus on guest and staff safety and the major element no one can control – the weather".

"At Falls Creek, we are proud to be able to provide a great skiing and boarding experience for visitors through to Friday, given the challenging weather conditions faced all winter.

"We take our hat off to the incredible snowmaking and grooming teams that have worked tirelessly all winter to provide us with the terrain we got to explore in season 2024."

Visitors that have already booked accommodation in the next few weeks are being advised to contact their accommodation provider directly, if they have not already made contact.

The spokesperson said Falls Creek Ski Lifts has contacted guests, via email, with lift tickets, lessons and rentals from September 14 onwards.

There will be an automatic refund for all vehicle resort entry permits purchased for September 14 onwards.

Anyone with queries regarding resort entry permits is being advised to contact the Visitor Information Centre via info.fallscreek@alpineresorts.vic.gov.au or call 03 5758 1200 (8am-5pm, Monday to Friday).
