WILD winds, lightening and heavy rainfall lashed parts of the Alpine Shire on Sunday, cutting power to thousands of homes in the district but fortunately causing minimal damage.
Around 3400 homes from Wangaratta to Myrtleford lost power for around six hours from 6.30am, and around 373 homes in Myrtleford had to wait until mid afternoon for power to be restored.
