ALPINE Shire Council has moved the date of its citizenship ceremony, previously held on Australia Day, to January 23.
"We recognise that Australia Day is not a day of celebration for all Australians, and we are moving the citizenship ceremony to a day which makes it available for all Australians to celebrate," Alpine Shire Council chief executive officer Will Jeremy said.
