Community helps to return Ben's lost camera

A LOCAL family is relieved that a new camera lost in Bright two weeks ago has been returned by a good Samaritan.
Ben Bugg was riding up Delany Avenue in Bright to visit a friend to show him the camera on October 31 when it fell out of his pocket.
He was particularly upset, as the camera had been a recent birthday present from a family friend.
"He was so distraught," Ben's mother Cathy said.
"We walked up and down the road to find it and I couldn't see it anywhere."
Cathy posted a notice on Facebook and asked if anyone had found it.
Wandiligong local, Bernard Eden, who had given the camera to Ben, also put up a reward for it.
One lady from Bright saw the post and offered the family her old Nikon camera as a replacement.
Not long after, a lady from Porepunkah found the camera and with her daughter-in-law's help, reached out by posting a notice on the Bright Community Facebook page with a photo of the camera in it's hard-case.
Bernard then reached out to the good Samaritans and arranged for them to meet up with Ben.
"He was very, very happy," Cathy said.
"The lady didn't want a reward, so we gave her a voucher instead, because it was her mother-in-law who found the camera."
