Virus worry for leagues

WITH major sporting events, competitions and seasons either cancelled or suspended right around the world due to the coronavirus pandemic, our local sporting associations face the very real prospect of a delayed or interrupted start to the season.

The Albury/Wodonga Football Association was given the green light by Football Federation Australia to play their round one matches yesterday, however, it seems only a matter of time before the season is impacted.

Regional football-netball leagues such as the Ovens and King and Ovens and Murray seasons don’t start until March 28, however, the changing nature of the coronavirus means those matches are no certainty to proceed.
