FROM Wednesday, November 27 to Wednesday December 18, locals and visitors to the Alpine Shire will be encouraged to shop locally in preparation for the holiday season and go in the draw to win one of three major prize packs for participating businesses, thanks to the annual ‘Buy Local and Win’ promotion brought to you by the Alpine Observer and Myrtleford Times.
A list of all participating businesses will be published each week in the Myrtleford Times and Alpine Observer during the promotion, plus the Facebook page will also encourage readers to shop at local stores.
The whole promotion is about encouraging people to support local business over the holiday season.
Customers are rewarded for shopping locally and they have a chance to win a share of some major prizes, namely:
• 1st prize: a $2000 voucher to spend at FoodWorks in Myrtleford, Mount Beauty or Yackandandah;
• 2nd prize: an $800 Voucher to spend at Catani Clothing and Strides in Bright; and
• 3rd prize: a Billy Button Wines Prize pack valued at over $500.
There are also loads of $100 vouchers from the participating businesses, simply by shopping at nearby businesses and supporting local this festive season.
Foodworks Myrtleford manager Andrew Reid said the company was happy to be part of the promotion.
“We feel like it’s a nice local incentive and we appreciate the locals that support us and continue to do so by supporting local,” he said.
To sign your business up to be included in the promotion, the cut-off time to register has been changed to Thursday, November 21 at 2pm.
