A new sweet treat for Bright

HUNDREDS of sweet treat fans visited Bright's newest sweet shop 'Lolly Polly Do Da' last Saturday, September 21, for the shop's grand opening.

The shelves were piled high with colourful confections and guests were eagerly discovering all the new store had to offer.

Owners Dene and Meg Freeland recently finished renovating the store after purchasing the business 12 months ago.

"It's going fantastic so far," Mr Freeland said.

"We get a lot of joy out of seeing this store come to life.

"We hope Bright enjoys 'Lolly Polly Do Da'."

Maddie and Sacha Crowley dropped in to investigate the new sweet shop with their grandmother, Valerie.

"It's so hard to choose, but everything looks great," Maddie said.

"It's so beautiful because it's different," Sacha said.

"I definitely planned this trip to the sweet shop as the biggest treat for my grandchildren," Valerie said.

"It's such a joy to see the excitement on their faces; it's uplifting.

"It's great to bring a bit of joy to our lives.

"They love visiting Bright and I explained to the kids that this could be a new tradition when we visit in the future."

Retail assistant, Kiah Ross, was at the ready to serve people as they stepped inside.

"I feel really excited every time I get to see someone's face light up when they see the store," she said.

"I worked next door at Dene and Meg's other store 'Journey' selling homewares and clothes, but now I've come back from holidays and I get to work here."

Lolly Polly Do Da is located at 13 Ireland Street, in Bright.
