Region set to sizzle

LOCAL health authorities and firefighters are reminding the community to remain alert to the risks posed by heatwaves with the remainder of this week forecast to reach temperatures of low 40s.

The Bureau of Meteorology predicts the mercury to peak toward the end of the week following consecutive days of 40 or above temperatures.

In Myrtleford, locals can expect today and Thursday to reach a maximum of 40 degrees with no chance of rain while Friday and Saturday will see temperatures of up to 42 degrees before slight relief on Sunday with 35 degrees.
