Target pain will be felt


MYRTLEFORD will feel the blow of the shutdown of Target Country with the Myrtle Street store marked to close early next year.
Parent company Wesfarmers announced last Friday afternoon that 75 Target and Target Country stores would permanently close while up to 92 stores would be converted into Kmart branches.
The Myrtleford store employs about a dozen locals and has been a staple on the main street for over a decade with people in the Alpine Shire travelling to the town specifically for a Target shop.
