MPs plea for Mt Buffalo Chalet to be re-opened

IN NEED OF TLC: The reopening of the Mount Buffalo Chalet is a local project Tim McCurdy would like to see achieved under the proposed $200 million Regional Tourism Fund.

THE iconic Mount Buffalo Chalet could receive funding to reopen should the State Government decide to establish a $200 million Regional Tourism Fund to bring tourism back to the North East.

Local MP Tim McCurdy (MLA, Ovens Valley) and Nationals leader Peter Walsh met in Wangaratta last Wednesday to announce the multi-million dollar plan.

The funding would be used to assist operators, promote Victorian tourism and upgrade tourism-related infrastructure to return the tourism sector to normalcy by June 2021.
