LOCAL police are pleased with the behavior of Alpine Shire residents over the Easter weekend.

LOCAL police are pleased with the behavior of Alpine Shire residents over the Easter weekend, after only having to hand out a handful of warnings and no penalties for breaches of coronavirus restrictions.
Sergeant Romina McEwan of Bright Police said most of the people who have been spoken to by police have had legitimate reasons for their travel.
“A lot of the people we have been speaking to, we have been doing checks on registrations, and a lot of the time they are legitimately here,” Sgt McEwan said.
