AFL North East Border is considering cutting player and coach payments by 50 per cent to help leagues and clubs stay afloat.

AS clubs across the region continue to deal with the blows dealt to them by coronavirus, AFL North East Border is considering cutting player and coach payments by 50 per cent to help leagues and clubs stay afloat.
It is believed AFL NEB is lobbying to have spending cut in half though the exact figures have not yet been released to clubs.
AFL NEB said the 50 per cent cut is based on aN 18-round season but a pro-rata ratio would be worked out should a shortened season go ahead. The reductions would be likely to continue into 2021.
