MYRTLEFORD Festival president Helen McDougall has praised the band of volunteers who worked to create a “spectacular” celebration for last weekend’s 60th anniversary event.

It is estimated about 4000 people walked through the gates of the Myrtleford Showgrounds, with Sunday night’s fireworks arguably the most popular event of the entire four-day festival.

“Everything went according to plan,” Ms McDougall said.“I think we saw an improvement on last year’s numbers…there was definitely a lot more people around and everyone was really well behaved.
