FAR FROM IN THE CLEAR: Warnings to the community not to become complacent during the cooler weather.

FOLLOWING last Thursday’s statewide Total Fire Ban, the first of the season, local firefighters believe the region is in for some relief but warn the community not to become complacent.

Forecast temperatures show a cool change compared to last with the remainder of this week to reach the mid-to-high 20s with a high fire danger rating.

Country Fire Authority’s Ovens Valley group officer Micheal Freudenstein said all forecast weather conditions point to “a fairly calm week or two”.
