    OVENS Valley United will be chasing more runs than they would have hoped after a strong batting fightback from Benalla on the first day of their round six A-grade clash.

    It looked like the Tigers would be batting late on Saturday after sending the Bushrangers in at Whorouly and reducing them to 7/76, but the away team recovered to post 9/184.

    A 101-run eighth-wicket partnership between Benalla’s Dale Stratton and Josh McCallum helped the Bushrangers to the respectable score on the opening weekend of two-day cricket.
