IT is believed at least one employee at Bright’s Woolworths store has been a victim of the retailer’s $300 million underpayment scandal.

It was revealed last week the supermarket giant underpaid about 5700 of its employees, mostly department managers, as much as $300 million in wages and entitlements including superannuation contributions over a nine-year period – an average of about $52,000 per affected worker.

The underpayment was first identified in February as the company implemented a new enterprise agreement and inconsistencies were identified in workers’ overtime levels under the award.
