Savoys fall in derby classic

IT was as much a battle between two towns as it was a top-of-the-table clash on Sunday when Myrtleford Savoy faced arch rivals Wangaratta City for the match that could ultimately decide the league.

The highly anticipated spectacle was tough from the start and with the Savoys almost at full-strength with the return of gun Jesse Stephens, the stage was set for an epic showdown.

The Red Devils were offered up multiple chances to produce serious damage to the score line but were kept at bay by Savoy keeper Nathan Gleeson and his defenders.
