TWO local tradies, including a young apprentice, have been left without work tools after thieves snatched thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment from work trailers.
The two incidents, which police believe are related, occurred last Tuesday night in Porepunkah and last Wednesday night or early Thursday morning in Bright.
In the first case, a Porepunkah builder woke to find his trailer ransacked with up to $4000-worth of tools gone while his car and trailer were parked in front of his home.
Then on Thursday morning in Bright, fourth-year apprentice carpenter Darcy Sholl thought friends were playing a joke on him when he went out to his car to find his trailer had been uncoupled and was missing.
“At first I went inside and asked dad where he’d put it, because I thought he might have borrowed it,” Mr Sholl said.
