A NEW flow trail on Mystic Hill will take riders to the base of Bright’s mountain bike park and provide a link to the town’s recreation reserve.
The yet to be named route will be about 2.5km long and will start at the Hero Trail intersection on Hazeldine Road and run down to Dougherty’s Bridge.
Keeping to the south of Huggins Road the whole time it will allow riders to enter Rotary Pines on Coronation Avenue via the existing bridge underpass where the trail head will also be moved.
The new trail and underpass upgrade will cost $90,000, significantly cheaper than the original plans to build a tunnel under Coronation Avenue near the top entrance to Pioneer Park.
Alpine Community Planation’s executive officer Alia Parker aid the ability to link the Hero Trail to the Alpine Events Park via Dougherty’s Bridge wasn’t available when the project first started.
“This option has quite a few benefits, one being that the new trail connects with a greater number of trails on Mystic and allows more riders to funnel down to the shuttle area near Dougherty’s Bridge,” she said.
“It will also help to alleviate the amount of traffic on Mystic Lane.
