Major bank works begin

NORTH East Catchment Management Authority has begun works to address major river bank instabilities along the Ovens River in Bright.

The works at Jack’s Hole Picnic Area and section of Cherry Walk will address damage that occurred from floods in October 2016 and subsequent high flows.

NECMA senior project officer Andrew Briggs said about 500 cubic metres of rock will be placed along the riverbanks to prevent further erosion.
