• Community urged to provide input

LOCAL Kiewa Valley residents are being encouraged to attend upcoming Mt Beauty Progressing Places project meetings to ensure all groups are able to comment on the plans.

Alpine Shire mayor Jan Vonarx said the plans were presented to the Upper Kiewa Valley Community Association last Thursday, and similar meetings were planned in the coming weeks to allow other groups in the area to have their say.

Cr Vonarx said the project aimed to revitalise the CBD and foreshore precincts and improve the overall character of the area.

“Feedback so far has been positive, and we’re looking forward to unveiling a more vibrant and functional town centre and foreshore when we deliver this project by April 2016,” she said.

Council’s CEO Dave Barry, director assets Charlie Bird and planning’s Francine Stacey attended the UKVCA’s meeting and reported on the progress of plans to upgrade the Pondage foreshore and the Mt Beauty town centre.
