A LARGER than expected crowd turned out for last Sunday’s Carols in the Piazza as the Myrtleford town centre came alive with Christmas cheer.

Around 350 local residents turned out to listen to traditional Christmas hymns and all the favorites with some even performed in Italian.

Performers included the Myrtleford Ecumenical Group, Robert Parolin and Katrina Fraser from Delize Café, local performer Tracey Hamilton, the Myrtleford P12 College primary school choir and Italian piano accordion player Loris Facchin.

The night ended with Santa’s arrival and the choir students and Santa singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

Carols in the Piazza organiser and MC for the night Kym Goodman said the night was another rousing success.
