Firefighters’ dedication recognised

A LIFETIME OF VOLUNTEERING: Bright CFA volunteer Stuart Hargreaves received his 60 years of service clasp from Euan Ferguson during the awards ceremony.

MORE than 20 Bright CFA members were recently rewarded for their long service, hard work and dedication to the volunteer organisation during a fire station dinner and awards ceremony.

On November, 29, local volunteer firefighters were joined by family members and friends at the first Bright CFA Awards ceremony in five years.

CFA Victoria’s chief officer Euan Ferguson attended the awards ceremony and was on hand to award each recipient.

Mr Ferguson extended the organisation’s gratitude to the many volunteers, not only in Bright, but statewide.

“We wouldn’t operate as an organisation without people like you, who respond to your pagers, put on your yellows and go out to the job,” he said.

“When you are a CFA volunteer you never know what job it is you are turning up for.
