Wanderers atop under 14 ladder

EFFORT BALL: Bright’s Harry Jamieson puts everything he has into this delivery during Saturday’s clash with Wangaratta Magpies.

BRIGHT sits atop Wangaratta and District Cricket Association’s under 14 ladder following its second big win in a row, accounting for Wangaratta Magpies by 53 runs at South Wangaratta Reserve on Saturday.

Having racked up the highest score of round one when they amassed 7/183 in a 99-run win over City Colts Blue, the Wanderers were once again the association leaders with the bat this week.

With the opening day of play washed out the match was reduced to 21 overs per side, and Bright, batting first, managed to score at a rate just shy of six an over, finishing up with 6/120.

Mitch Botter (26 not out) was best of the Bright bats, while Max Stevens (17), Alex Dalbosco (17no) and Darcy Chellew (14) all got into double figures.
