AFTER one term in the role of acting principal at Mt Beauty Primary School, Carolyn Serpell (pictured) has accepted the position in an ongoing capacity.
Although she is not a local born, Ms Serpell has lived and worked in the Alpine Shire for the past 20 years.
Her previous position was a six-year stint as principal of Harrietville Primary School, before which she taught at Wandiligong Primary for seven years.
“I am not local but my husband is from Rosewhite and he currently teaches at Mt Beauty Secondary College,” she said.
Ms Serpell trained as a teacher in Melbourne but did not work in teaching until she and her husband moved to Bright after their children were born.
“I did a lot of work with youth and children, and also worked briefly for the Museum of Victoria,” she said.
