Young ladies make debuts

BELLES OF THE BALL: MAKING their debut at the Bright Debutante Ball last week were (from left) Isabella Bartlett, Kate Buckley and Indianna Wickes. The trio was among 18 young ladies making their debut with dashing partners last Saturday evening.

EIGHTEEN young women were presented to the local community at the 2014 Bright Debutante Ball, last Friday night.

Organisers Alanah Tesoriero and Jason Higgs said eight weeks of hard work had paid off and all of the debutantes and their partners had done a fantastic job of the dances.

“I’ve done this for the last four years and generally there’s always been someone who has two left feet, but never as many as what I’ve had in this group,” she said.

“But they have done us proud and they performed the dances better than they ever did in rehearsal.

“Everything went really well and both Jason and I are really proud of the group.”

Ms Tesoriero and Mr Higgs are stepping down as organisers of the Debutante Ball and Ms Tesoriero said it was time for someone else to take the reins.
