$500,000 upgrade

HAPPY AS SANDBABIES: All parties were delighted at the announcement of $500,000 funding to upgrade the Lake View Children’s Centre in Mt Beauty.

FACILITIES at Mt Beauty’s Lake View Children’s Centre are in line for an upgrade following an announcement of $350,000 in State Government funding made by the Minister for Children and Early Childhood Development Wendy Lovell last Friday.

Alpine Shire Council will also pitch in to the $500,000 project, committing to contribute $117,000, while Lake View Children’s Centre Family and Friends group is adding $20,000, Mt Beauty Playgroup is contributing $4500 and Alpine Children Services is putting $8500 towards the upgrade.

The announcement was also attended by Bill Sykes (MLA, Benalla), Bill Tilley (MLA, Benambra,) Alpine Shire mayor Peter Roper, deputy mayor Jan Vonarx, Cr Tony Keeble, chief executive officer Dave Barry and several other council representatives.

Ms Lovell said that the aim of contributing funding to the project was to help give children who attend the centre the best start in life.
