PARKS Victoria will assess expressions of interest before calling for tenders for the Mt Buffalo Chalet redevelopment.

Applications closed last Wednesday for commercial builders willing to throw their hat in the ring for the multi-million dollar project.

Parks Victoria district manager Ty Caling said he was unable to state publicly the quantity or quality of expressions of interest received by the deadline.

“All I can say at this stage is that we have received expressions of interest from commercial builders and all are being looked at,” he said.

“It’s a two-stage process, so the next step is that the expressions will be considered and a short-list prepared.

“The builders short-listed will then be invited to tender for the redevelopment.”
