Mt Beauty Dragon Boat Club is keen to get more on board

THE Alpine Dragons are paddling to a different beat and hoping more people will jump on board.

The Mt Beauty Dragon Boat Club had about 80 people at their launch and already have 15 paddlers on the water each Wednesday and Friday evenings as well as Sunday mornings.

But they need more.

With a little over a month to their first regatta they have 22 seats to fill.

Upper Kiewa Valley Cancer Support Group members led by president Trish Dixon are steering the project after a trip to Albury dragon boat paddlers and cancer survivors group Bravehearts a few months ago. 

“We are lucky to have a local sweep/head coach Steve Blair living here and other contacts to help put all this together,” she said. 

“It’s great fun and anyone can come and join in without any previous experience and from as young as 12.
