THIS year’s big wet has continued unabated with September rainfall figures breaking records.

TAFCO’s Myrtleford weather station had Myrtle-ford’s monthly rainfall total at 153.6mm, more than five times the previous year and double the rainfall in 2014.

That pattern was repeated at Porepunkah (166.4) and Coral Bank (230.2mm).

Wangaratta’s Bureau of Meteorology weather station recorded the same as Myrtleford and was its biggest total on record in more than 60 years.

The Border recorded its wettest September on record.

On Monday the continuing wet had the Happy Valley Creek at Whalleys Lane close to breaking its banks in Myrtleford and the Standish Street causeway again under water and the road closed for the second time in four days.
