School funding figures go public

NEW FIGURES: Wandiligong Primary will receive almost half a million dollars to run the school next year under figures published by the education department.

THE Victorian Government will pump more than $16 million into the Alpine Shire’s state schools next year, almost $400,000 for disadvantaged students alone.

For the first time the Victorian Government has made funding figures available to the public for the more than 1300 students at state schools across the region.

The funding packages are based on indicative enrolments and subject to change.

Bright P12 College tops the list with almost $5 million for its estimated 415 students.

Harrietville Primary School receives the least amount of funding for an expected enrolment of 14 students.

Upper House Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes said North East school students most in need are getting extra support at school to achieve their best and break the cycle of disadvantage.
