MT Beauty’s Sweet Valley Sounds music festival is the latest casualty on the Alpine Shire events calendar.
Just weeks after the Mt Beauty Music Festival chose to defer next year’s event in favour of going to a two-year cycle, organsiers have also dumped next year’s event.
They too are now looking to 2018.
But Mt Beauty Chamber of Commerce secretary Tony Roberts believes the decision will have little impact on traders.
“Marketing for Sweet Valley Sounds is firmly aimed at the local population, so there will be very little effect on use of accommodation and restaurants,” he said.
“There will be the odd person from out of town, but nothing like the influx we have been seeing at the Mt Beauty Music Festival in April.”
