MYRTLEFORD Football Netball Club president Michael Quirk says the club will, in any way, support the families of the two reserve grade players injured in a fatal car crash over the weekend.
Lachlan Kirk and Luke Waters remain in hospital with non-life threatening injuries after they were involved in a head-on smash at Bruarong on Saturday afternoon.
The two 19 year olds were on their way back to Myrtleford, after playing football in North Albury, and were travelling with Kirk’s father Tony who suffered minor injuries in the accident.
A 30 something year-old Taiwanese woman was killed in the collision after allegedly swerving onto the wrong side of the road.
Mr Quirk said the news on Saturday evening was a shock to all those at the club.
“It was obviously a horrible thing to hear about as we made our way home, everyone was clearly concerned and trying to find out if everyone was ok,” he said.
