WE HAVE LIGHT AND NEW SURFACES: Myrtleford Tennis Club president Peter Ternes and Myrtleford netball coach Anndrea Grant are over the moon with recent upgrades at McNamara Reserve.

WITH new surfaces and a lighting upgrade, the makeover to McNamara Reserve’s netball and tennis courts could soon be complete with new change rooms.

Alpine Shire councillors last week said yes for council to seek funding from the Victorian Government to upgrade the female change facilities at the courts.

Through the Community Sports Infrastructure Fund grants of up to $100,000 are available to build new and upgrade existing and out-dated change facilities at sports clubs.

The total cost of the project is expected to be $500,000 with council committing to provide the remaining $400,000 required to complete the works.

McNamara Reserve Committee of Management secretary Marnie Broz said new change rooms would top off the recent upgrades.

“It will definitely be an asset for all the user groups,” she said.
