MYRTLEFORD co-captain Matt Dussin has been recognised for his strong performance in the Ovens and Murray’s interleague win over Hampden by being selected in the Vic Country squad to take on Vic Metro next month.
Four of the Saints’ rising stars have also been named in the initial 67-man Vic Country under 19s squad that plays the Victorian Amateur Football Association, also on July 10.
Brady and Ryley Sharp and Luke Quirk all represented the Ovens and Murray against Hampden three weeks ago and have been joined by Cal Crisp who played for Vic Country last year.
Dussin is one of five Ovens and Murray players in the 37-man Country squad along with Dederang Mt Beauty product Elliot Powell and his Albury teammates Brayden O’Hara and Josh Mellington, while Wodonga Raider Jydon Neagle is the other.
The number one ranked Geelong league along with Goulburn Valley and Peninsula share the most representatives in the initial squad with six players.
Bendigo and the Ovens and Murray both have five representatives.
