MYRTLEFORD’S under 18s tasted success for the first time in 2016 with a 32 point win over Corowa Rutherglen on Sunday morning.
The Saints’ thirds kicked off a wining day for the club’s footballers with the reserves and then seniors all picking up victories over the Roos.
Daniel Taberner kicked three goals and Thomas Piazza two, while Wayland Wales, Seth Hescock, Sam Dalbosco and Mick Elliot were the side’s best in the 9.8 (62) to 4.6 (30) win.
After a tight tussle in the first quarter with both teams scoring just one goal, the Saints opened up the match in the second term with four goals to take a 21 point lead into halftime.
From there they controlled the contest, they only added one goal in the third term but held Corowa Rutherglen goalless before the home side finished strong with three majors.
Coach Tristan Purss said it was great reward for the hard work the team has put in on the training track.
