Dairy no more

MILKED DRY: After 32 years as Bright’s milkman Dennis Bunn closed the doors on his dairy for the final time yesterday.

TODAY is the first time in more the 70 years that businesses in Bright won’t be getting their milk delivered direct from the town’s own dairy.

It’s also the first time in seven decades that a Bunn won’t be doing the milk rounds.

Dennis Bunn closed the doors on the Bright Dairy yesterday after 32 years as the town’s milkman.

At age 63, a decline in milk wholesales because of the many cheap milk brands available led to the decision to finish up.

“I have sold to Joe Galvan who has owned the dairy down in Myrtleford for longer than I have been here,” Dennis said.

“He is going to put the two together and run both out of the Myrtleford Dairy so there will be no dairy in Bright.
