La Fiera future security

ON YOUR MARKS: SLOW and steady wins the race. That’s the advice of defending La Fiera festival barista race champion Sue Finch to her co-workers Jasmine Rizzi and Stephanie Umanski who are gearing up for Saturday’s title race in the Myrtleford piazza.

THE future of the La Fiera festival has been secured for the next three years with Michelini Wines last night committing to being its major sponsor up until 2020.

The festival, now in its eighth year, officially began last night with six days of harvest feast set to continue well into the weekend.

Dino Michelini said the decision to commit to the next three years was a “no brainer”.

“La Fiera represents everything that we believe in,” he said.

“Good food, good wine, our cultural heritage and all designed to showcase our home in Myrtleford in the middle of the rich Ovens Valley.

“We made a conscious decision with our business about how we wanted to be seen and promoted.

“That is Australian born, fiercely Myrtleford and without losing touch with our Italian heritage.

“La Fiera is a blend of all three.

“Our Italian varietal wines are a link to our past, the fact that they are grown in this climate, produced in Myrtleford shows that this is the food and wine capital of the North East.
