THE ANZ will bring down the curtains on its Mt Beauty branch in a little over a month.
In a letter to account holders the bank cited declining over-the-counter business and increased on-line banking as the reasons for the closure.
The bank will close its doors for the last time at 2pm on Wednesday, March 9 ending what is believed to have been a 50-year history in the town.
All accounts held at the ANZ Mt Beauty will be automatically transferred to Bright.
Customers have been asked to collect any items they may have in security storage.
Alan McDonald of McDonald’s Meats in Hollonds Street, who holds an account with the ANZ, said that he had not yet decided what to do about the closure.
