IT’S a celebration of all cultures, says Alpine Shire Council mayor Ron Janas.

On Tuesday celebrations will be held across the Ovens and Kiewa valleys as part of the Australia Day festivities.

Barbecue breakfasts in Bright, Mudgegonga and Myrtleford will start at 7.30am, the official awards getting under way from 9am.

Mudgegonga’s breakfast also starts at 7.30am but the official ceremony won’t start until two hours later.

Mt Beauty’s breakfast starts at 8am and Harrietville will hold its Australia Day festivities from 10am.

Councillors will be split across the three main centres to formally recognise people and organisations that have made a significant contribution to their community.
