LESS than 48 hours after its official opening and the Myrtleford skate park has been trashed by hoons, again.

The $160,000 makeover was completed just a few weeks ago and was almost immediately vandalised with graffiti.

On Sunday night hoons have torn up the park’s surrounds, left black tyre marks and oil in the newly created bowl, smashed bottles and left the remnants of wine cartons and other alcoholic drinks in their wake.

The attack came just two nights after Alpine Shire Council mayor Ron Janas officially opened the upgraded skate park.

Leading Senior Constable Bernard Murphy believes the culprits are from Myrtleford.

“They just can’t leave things like this alone,” he said.

“This is not a random act and the likelihood is that the people who use the skate park will almost certainly know who is responsible for the damage here.
