Power switched on

GOOD FORM: Ethan Brown has put in some impressive performances with the ball so far this year, his best coming in the Power’s latest match against Wodonga, where he finished with six wickets.

MT Beauty is back on the winners’ list in cricket Albury Wodonga district first grade after a big win over Wodonga on Saturday.

After dismissing Wodonga for 117 before ending day one 30 runs away from victory at 3/86 the Power cruised to victory on Saturday taking their total to 8/180 before having Wodonga 8/132 in the second innings.

The bowlers were the stars on day one with Ashan Ranaweera claiming figures of 4/16 off 9.3 overs while Ethan Brown (2/32) and Tom McMahon (2/12) were also impressive.

With the bat captain Damien Jenvey (20) and Ranaweera (26) saw the side off to a solid start before Darren Cootee (29) and Mick Grace (21) saw the side across the line on Saturday after falling to 6/94 early on day two.

In the Power’s second attempt with the ball it was again Brown and McMahon who did the damage, the pair grabbing three wickets each.

Despite having the opportunity to go for an outright victory captain Jenvey said it was just good for the team to get their second win of the season.
