MYRTLEFORD coach Joe Artavilla has called it a day after the Savoys surrendered a one-goal lead to lose the Albury Wodonga Football Association Cup final to Wangaratta on Sunday.

It was the Savoys’ fourth Cup final loss in the past decade.

Scores were deadlocked 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes and two 10-minute extra time periods.

But the penalty shootout was all Wangaratta.

First Myrtleford’s English import Dan Kelly hit the woodwork to leave the Savoys trailing.

While Matt Park made the second attempt, when Wangaratta’s Jon Shaw stopped Lewis Holloway’s shot it was star import Adam Burchell who goaled to give the Red Devils an unassailable 5-2 lead and victory.
