BRIGHT has been identified as a creative industry hotspot according to Victorian Rural Councils (VRC).

A recently completed study included the town among the leaders in the state for fostering creative pursuits.

Bright’s Winding Road Design Studio’s Alicia Marshall said in her six years in the town she had seen an increase in creative businesses starting up.

“In the short time I have been here there has been a complete change in the demographic and a number of small businesses have come up,” she said.

“They have been arts and craft people or artisans as well as people doing some really creative things with food.

“And along with artists, craft people and makers there also seems to be more of awareness by local people.”
