Bright netballers claim two wins over Benalla

GOOD PICKUP: Hannah Kennedy put in another good performance for Bright’s A grade side on the weekend.

BRIGHT claimed two wins from four matches in round 16 of Ovens and King netball last weekend.

Hosting Benalla the C grade and B reserve sides were the two successful teams on the day.

The A grade girls came close to knocking off the eighth placed All Blacks but went down 39-47.

New recruit Hannah Kennedy was best on court for the Mountain Maids while Emily O’Neil and Kate Buckley worked well in goals.

B grade came even closer than A grade did to victory before falling 39-42.

Fleur Fergie was solid in attack scoring 25 goals and Tracy Fitzpatrick was again strong in defence giving the Bright girls every chance but it wasn’t quite enough.
